nderstandably, many people are interested in the Ochoco Community Clinic, and we receive a lot of questions about our services and programs. We've formulated a list of answers to many of our most frequently-asked questions. If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (541) 477-0707. One of our professional staff members will be pleased to help you.

Where are you located? How do I contact you?

Our medical building is located in Prineville at 980 N. Main St., next to the Price Slasher grocery store. You can reach us by calling (541) 447-0707, or by fax at (541) 447-0708. There is plenty of parking at our location. You may also e-mail us at info@ochoco.org or complete our on-line form.

Finally, you may be eligible to take the Senior Citizen Shuttle to our offices. The Shuttle leaves from the Senior Citizen Center at 170 NE Main St. in Prineville. Please contact the Center at (541) 447-6844 to see whether you are eligible for this service and to ask about the Shuttle's schedule.

What are your business hours?

  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Closed Saturday and Sunday
We are also closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Can I make an appointment?

Yes. That is the preferred way to see our medical team. Call (541) 447-0707 to schedule an appointment. NOTE: We do enforce a policy in which patients who consistently fail to show up for their appointments without cancelling 24 hours in advance will be rescheduled on an "available space" basis only. After two missed and uncancelled appointments in a row, or three in a six-month period, patients will no longer be able to make appointments but will be seen on an "available space" only basis.

In addition, all patients who are 15 or more minutes late for their appointments will be rescheduled for the next earliest time. These policies are necessary so that we can serve the most people we can.

I only speak Spanish or have a limited knowledge of English. Is that a problem?

No. Se hablo español. Many of our staff members are bilingual, including the persons who answer our phones. In fact, many of our patients speak only Spanish!

When is the best time to stop by your office?

We know you don't like to wait for hours at the doctor's office. The best time to visit us is between 8:00 a.m.
10 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. Generally, our busiest times are between 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. Please use these hours as a guideline only.

What if I or a member of my family have an emergency?

If you have a life-threatening emergency, you should dial 911 immediately or go to the closest emergency room.

What kind of patients do you or do you not accept?

We accept everyone, whether you have comprehensive commercial insurance, Medicaid, are uninsured, or undocumented. You may be discouraged from using our services if you participate in a managed-care plan in which we do not participate, or you may be asked to change your primary care provider to one of our providers if you are assigned to another office.

What about payment? I don't have a job, I don't have insurance, or I can't afford to pay high medical bills.

Our mission is to accept everyone regardless of their ability to pay. Payment is based on a sliding-scale arrangement. In most instances, qualifying patients pay $20 - $30 per visit, which includes immunizations and other specialty care. Laboratory and radiology services are additional, but are also discounted significantly. This compares with hundreds of dollars charged for the same services at other facilities. Please click here for more information about the sliding scale and how it works.

Do you provide dental services?

Currently, we provide basic dental services by contract with local dentists. Due to limited resources, you must come to the clinic first to be evaluated. If a clinic provider determines that emergent or urgent services are required, you will be referred to a local provider for evaluation and possible treatment. These services are also provided at a significant discount to those who qualify.

Do you provide vision services?

We currently provide prescriptive eye examinations to the uninsured free of charge. These services are provided by a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who sees patients once per month at the clinic.

Do you provide prenatal care?

Yes. We provide comprehensive prenatal services at the clinic, and work with local physicians who perform deliveries. If you are, or think you may be, pregnant, we urge you to call us right away.
