ver
the last decade, nearly every state has enacted
a series of efforts to make private health insurance
more available and more
affordable.
These initiatives have focused on three problems
in the health-care system. First, employers
in the small-business community often cannot afford
to provide health insurance to their employees. Second,
the employees in these companies generally earn
too little to purchase their own health-insurance
policies. Third, persons with high-cost
medical needs are often excluded from the individual
insurance market even if they can afford a relatively
high premium.
All of these problems have impacted the residents of Crook County and central
Oregon. Ochoco
Community
Clinic
is
located in an area beset by multiple social and economic problems. Among the
most serious
problems are high unemployment, inadequate housing, inadequate transportation,
language barriers and other problems associated with poverty.
In addressing
these challenges, Ochoco Community Clinic provides
a broad
array
of services including primary care, mental health,
dental and prenatal services for patients of all
ages. And, most importantly, we may be able to
provide these
services at a cost to you which is a fraction of
the cost charged by other health-care providers.
