Located in Prineville, we have served more than 900 patients from over 15 towns
and villages in our first six months
of business.
The
idea of opening such a clinic was hatched
by
former
Prineville resident Sharry Fassett, a Certified
Nurse
Anesthetist who began working with Hispanic and
Latino people at nearby Pioneer Memorial Hospital.
She
soon realized
that there was an acute need for medical services
for low-income and uninsured patients in general.
Working tirelessly with various local, state
and federal agencies and using her
own considerable resources to investigate other
Community
Health Centers around the country, she began pursuing
funding and, in June 2002, the Ochoco Community
Clinic was founded. Its doors opened to the public
three
months later. Sharry sat on the board of directors
of the Ochoco Community Clinic as its first president
until February 2003. Today, she works at the Mayo
Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Our mission
is to improve the lives and health of low-income
uninsured and under-
insured
individuals and families. The clinic offers culturally
competent
primary health care, mental health, prenatal
care and dental services. We accept everyone, regardless
of their ability to pay, and provide discounted
services to those who qualify. Everyone is welcome!
Caring,
compassionate and highly qualified physicians,
nurse practitioners, registered nurses,
medical assistants and support personnel, several
of whom
are bi-lingual
in English and Spanish, staff our clinic. All of
our provider staff members are licensed by the
State of Oregon.
If you are uninsured or under-insured and meet eligibility
guidelines, we are able to provide services to you
and your family at a significant discount. In addition,
we will work with you to make monthly payments when
necessary. Please click here for more
information
about our fee structure.
Because Ochoco
Community Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health
Center, we are able to waive the deductible
for most patients with Medicare. Ochoco Community
Clinic is not a free clinic, however, and patients
are expected to meet their agreed-upon payment
obligations. If you are insured, we will bill your
insurance company for the services you receive.
